MEAL PLANNING

The best meal plan for you is one created by your health care provider, a plan that has been tailored to your specific needs.

But until you meet with your certified diabetes educator or your registered dietitian, here are  5 meal planning guidelines and a sample meal plan.

Remember, the meal plan is a general guideline.   You may have special needs (calorie limits, allergies or other dietary restrictions) that should be considered and that will be addressed when you meet with your personal health care provider.

You’ve heard it before – breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  Find out why it’s such an important part of your day.

Variety is the spice of life, and it’s also going to make what you put on your plate more colorful and appealing, help you regulate your blood sugar and go a long way to making sure you get all the vitamins and minerals that you and your bungle of joy need to thrive.

See how you can create a meal plan that will meet your nutritional needs.  We’ll guide you through the steps.

HOW TO

An important part of monitoring your blood sugar is testing. When your blood sugar is too high or too low, you’ll need to make adjustments to your treatment using the guidelines set forth by your health care provider. So it’s very important for you to track your blood sugar levels and share the results with your provider.

How do I test my blood sugar?

What monitor should I use?

How do I set up my monitor and get it to work right?

You have questions.  We have answers.

Watch our video: How to Test Your Blood Sugar

It’ll help you get started with testing and perhaps ease some of the anxiety you may be feeling.
